This Privacy Policy explains what information Nommer collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Nommer mobile app and website. Nommer is operated by Garm Tech BV (garm.com), Staalkade 6 O, Amsterdam, the Netherlands (KvK 99602075), which is the data controller responsible for your information.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address. Used to sign you in via a one-time passcode and to send essential service emails.
- Profile details. Such as the name you choose to display to your cooking partner.
- Recipes & content. Links, photos, or text you add so Nommer can build a cooking plan, plus your saved recipes and cooking-session activity (for example, which steps are checked off).
Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics. We use Aptabase, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to understand how the app is used. It does not collect personally identifying information.
- Crash & error reports. We use Sentry to capture crashes and errors so we can fix them. These reports can include device and app details and technical context about what went wrong.
- Technical data. Basic information needed to operate the Service, such as device/app version and the network address used to connect.
Device permissions
To let you add a recipe by photo, Nommer asks for access to your camera and photo library. We only use these to capture or select the recipe image you choose; we don't access your camera or photos otherwise. You can grant or revoke these permissions anytime in your device settings.
Subscription information
When you purchase Nommer Pro or credits, the payment itself is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never receive your card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, linked to your Nommer account identifier so we know which features to unlock.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate Nommer — signing you in, building cooking plans, and syncing sessions between cooks.
- To process recipes you add, including AI-assisted interpretation and image generation.
- To manage subscriptions and unlock paid features.
- To send essential service emails (such as sign-in codes and account notices).
- To understand usage, diagnose crashes and errors, and improve the Service.
- To protect Nommer and our users from abuse, fraud, and security threats.
3. Service providers we share data with
We don't sell your personal information. We share limited data with trusted providers who help us run Nommer:
- OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to — to interpret recipes and generate cooking plans and images. We send the recipe content you provide for processing.
- RevenueCat — to manage subscriptions and entitlements.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — to process purchases.
- Aptabase — privacy-friendly usage analytics.
- Sentry — crash and error monitoring.
- Resend — to deliver transactional emails such as sign-in codes.
- Railway — our hosting and database provider, where your data is stored.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Nommer and its users.
4. Recipe imports from other websites
When you import a recipe from a link, Nommer fetches that page to read the recipe and, where available, its preview image. We fetch only the URL you provide and apply safeguards to avoid requesting private or internal network addresses.
5. Data retention
We keep your account information and saved recipes for as long as your account is active. Cooking sessions are temporary and expire automatically. When you delete your account, we deactivate it immediately so it can no longer be signed into or accessed. We may retain the underlying records for a limited period for legitimate purposes such as preventing abuse and meeting legal obligations. To request full erasure of your personal data, email us at nommer@nommer.ai and we'll remove it.
6. Your choices & rights
- Access & deletion. You can delete your account from within the app at any time, which deactivates it. To have the associated personal data fully erased, email us and we'll take care of it. See how to delete your account for step-by-step instructions.
- Subscriptions. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Children
Nommer isn't directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
Nommer and our service providers may process and store your data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
