Ingredients

The full plan

Split between two cooks — each step says who's on it.

1. Mise en Place BOTH

  • Finely mince or grate the garlic on a Microplane grater
  • Cut the salmon fillet into 1 1/2-inch pieces
  • Halve the cucumber lengthwise and slice it into very thin half-moons
  • Chop the dill fronds
  • Prep 2 carrots: peel

2. Marinate the salmon COOK 1

  • In a small bowl, whisk to combine the harissa paste, honey, extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • In a medium bowl, transfer 1/4 cup harissa sauce
  • Add the salmon, gently tossing to coat
  • Set aside while the air fryer preheats, and reserve the remaining harissa sauce for serving

Meanwhile: Preheat the air fryer COOK 1

  • Preheat a 6-quart air fryer at 400°F for 5 minutes

3. Air-fry the salmon COOK 1

  • In the air fryer basket, add the marinated salmon in a single layer
  • Cook until caramelized around the edges and just cooked through, 5 to 8 minutes

Meanwhile: Make the salad COOK 2

  • In a large bowl, toss the carrots, cucumber, dill, lemon juice, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper to combine

4. Plate and serve BOTH

  • Place 1 cup rice in each bowl
  • Top with the cooked salmon and carrot mixture
  • Drizzle with the reserved harissa mixture, and garnish with dill, if desired
  • Serve with avocado slices, if desired
